You’re comparing the alternative comic creators to the mainstream pop music creators.

Some damned kids somewhere are making their own music that’s the most vital music being made today – we’re just not aware of it yet, because it’s only being played on one college radio station right now. Besides, even if we were aware of it, you and I would just think it’s a bunch of noise, because we’re old.
