[...] But, with the explosion of webcomics, 10,000/day just isn’t the number it used to be. So what is the number that lets you live off your comics? Crowley’s talking about daily readers here, but given that not all webcomics update daily, monthly uniques might be a better measure (and I have one hard number along those lines available: 3.5 million for PA, as cited by Robert Khoo in San Diego this summer).
[...] Gary A number of people have been thinking about success in webcomics lately. First up, Jennie Breeden of The Devil’s Panties — if you saw her on stage at SDCC, you could tell that she’s thought a lot about how to make it in [web]comics, and I don’t think I enjoyed meeting anybody as much as her. She’s put a lot of her ideas down in a new FAQ, and if she lets me, I’m going to excerpt her excellent advice when I get around to making the Webcomics School recaps into something more permanent.
[...] First, you can find great write-ups on some of the panels I sat on at fleen.com. Gary Tyrell practically transcribed Webcomics 103: Making Money. Here’s Part One and Part Two. Other Blank Label Comic cartoonists can be heard from in the transcriptions of Webcomics 102, and Webcomics 101. Oh, and the Blank Label Comics panel got mentioned in his Friday Recap. [...]

I ... I think.

Howard wrote:
[Gary]'s even nicer in person than in print.

I'll take your word for it, but note that his Fleen persona is nothing like his Goats persona. Come to think of it, maybe those personalities don't inhabit the same body....

I can attest to the veracity of Gary's coverage.

Also, if you can imagine this, he's even nicer in person than in print.

Thanks for all the panel coverage Gary.

I've heard that a ridiculously large book once fell on a baby Robert Khoo.
