[...] Knooren: Yes, T. Campbell wrote a book, [A] History Of Webcomics early in 2006, which seems to have stirred up some controversy. Not so much for what he said, but what he didn’t say about the people in the industry, and the time of it’s release. I’m not saying he didn’t do research, or knows a lot about the topic. I’ve talked to him before, he’s a nice guy. But nothing about the history of this medium really matters to anyone, except for self-congratulation and book sales. [...]

[...] So are there ANY redeeming factors about the book? Well, if you’re in webcomics already, you might appreciate the list of strips you never knew existed and behind-the-scenes drama that you never heard about, but even THAT is debatable; according to some in the biz, much of the information gathered and cited in the text is incorrect, even to the point where it might be false. But I’ll leave that chestnut for someone ELSE to roast. [...]

When I first heard about the book being made, my first impressions were "isn't it too soon for a history of comics?" But T persisted, and so I offered, like many others, to read it and offer input on it before he shipped it to it's publisher. I wanted it t6o be the best book it could be. My printed on a Epson version had page numbers. My main concerns for the book were the lack of dates when he was referring to what happened when and in what order and the use of end notes rather than footnotes (which I feel would have been a much easier read). It was because of mine and a few other's input that T said he'd include Melonpool and ANSII and ASCII comics og which were excluded upon reading my version of the text.

I do have to say though, that I agree with almost everything you say here.

Since the cover of the book displays the titel of "<i><b>A</b></i> History Of Webcomics", shouldn't the acronym in your writeup be "AHOW", not "THOW"?

.. but, that's how life is like in Sweden. We sit around, playing games, making rude comments. The ninjas are made up tho, we actually have gnomes in every house over here, but PvP already claimed that, and we didn't wanna walk in to his backyard and you people are more likley to believe that we have home-ninjas.

[...] T Campbell responds to the deliberately pedantic, drama-averse review of his History of Webcomics book posted by Fleen last week. Irony of ironies: in the course of their review, which mostly focused on fact-checking and copy-editing mistakes, Fleen got the very title of the book wrong! Ha! (I don’t mean to fan flames here — all parties are well-intentioned in this conversation, and all have valid points of view). [...]
